We're arriving, but giving us reports immediately on our favorite city on the mainland.

That would be Las Vegas.

Jeff, you visited Las Vegas within days with your pal and beloved, and you found that there's no change in the nickel and diming.

What is nickel and diming? What is the complaint, Jeff? Good evening, too.

Aloha, John. I figured that's how I had to start it tonight being in Hawaii.

So the nickel of the diamond is Vegas has been slowly but surely raising prices on everything.

It used to be that you could go to Vegas and get a good meal and get drinks, sometimes free if you were gambling at the time.

But certainly at a decent cost.

Everything was much less expensive than Vegas because they're bringing you there to, that's

supposed to be a magnet to bring you there to gamble more. But in the past few years, Vegas has become

more of a destination than just a gambling spot. And so they've said, okay, we're going to have resort

fees, you know, like sometimes $50 a day just gets tacked on to use the pool or other features.

We're going to tack on parking that will be anywhere from $25 to $50 a day, more if you valet in

some places.

And then the food and drink prices are going through the roof.

You feel like you're getting soaked in the days of Times Square where, you know,

you get a cocktail for 40 bucks and a steak is going to cost you 100 bucks or more,

just for a mediocre one.

So they're doing this nickel and diming, and it's showing up in their profit margins.
