We go to Los Angeles, a new mayor, Karen Bass, committed to solving the people who are

experiencing homelessness, and there are preliminary results coming in.

Jeff, a very good evening to you.

How's it going?

What are the numbers look like?

Good evening.

Good evening, John.

I don't think the mayor is quite ready to take a full victory lap yet, but she's certainly

touting some of the advances that she believes her administration has made.

She's claiming that they've moved about 14,000 plus people off the streets, folks that are

experiencing homelessness.

And if that's true, and she said they've put about 30% of those people are 4,300 or so

into a acquired permanent housing, that's a pretty good first start.

However, the numbers of almost in LA County, in the surrounding areas, Orange County,

and the other counties, it just, it doesn't show up when you're in the streets.

That's for sure.

I go to LA County probably two or three times a week.

I see it on my way in and my way out, different routes.

It's just phenomenal.
