We've been watching this because of the blow to Los Angeles's economy.

And, of course, the threat to all the actors and writers who have mortgages to pay or rents to meet.

Right now, is there any reason to be positive about where they are?

Because the last time we talked, there were tough remarks from the owner's side that we're going to ride this to Christmas and see how they react.

Good evening, John. Right now, there is no sign of any light at the end of the tunnel.

There doesn't seem to be any movement on either side, any compromise.

Of course, the studios don't say much other than the occasional CEO comes out and says, we've got to fix this.

But, on the screen actor's guild side and the writer's guild side, there's a lot of vitriol.

And, a lot of it is very personal. So, that's a sign that things aren't in a good place.

But, this strike right now, which is the first one since the 60s involving both writer's guild, screen actor's guild, has already cost the economy over $2 billion.

And, the belief is that, even if it were to be fixed, if this situation were come to a head in an agreement where it was made within a month or so, we're still looking at a negative hit to the economy of at least $4 billion.

And, you know, this is an economy that's not just, or a business that's not just in L.A., it may be rooted here in L.A. Hollywood.

But, it's connected as you point it to New York and a lot of other big places even overseas.

And, you have places like Georgia, which has a big, a lot of film production there complaining that they're losing money and they wanted to get fixed.

But, right now in L.A., we're looking at over $30 million a day to the negative when it comes to the impact on the economy.
