Summary

This episode is all about how my original Ocean-inspired song "Pacific" took shape. "Pacific" was originally released in 2011, as part of my "Yearbook" song series, and was later added to the "Atlas: Oceans" EP, which are available everywhere music is! 1:32.0

I get to pull each of the elements apart, I get to tell you about the inspiration behind each of these songs,

1:38.0

why wrote what I wrote, and why recorded what I recorded, and what the lyrics mean to me, and everything else.

1:44.0

So thank you so much for being curious about how these songs get made.

1:48.0

It means the world to me to get to tell you about it, and I hope that wherever you are listening to this podcast right now,

1:54.0

you're having a really beautiful day.

Pacific was the 16th song in my yearbook series, and it was Track 1 of the March EP as part of that series.

2:04.0

2:13.0

And each of those three songs were titled by the month that they were released in.

2:16.0

So for this song Pacific, it belongs to the March EP of songs.

2:21.0

And so again, having just spent some time in Hawaii and being surrounded by the Pacific Ocean,

2:27.0

and also it being March, I thought it would be the perfect time to get to pull this song apart for you guys.
