Hey friends welcome back. It is time for the morning mindset. If you're new to the morning

mindset I want to welcome you. Today we have the opportunity to together look at God's

Word and align our minds with His truth. That is how we can live a day full of His Spirit.

It's because we're looking at His truth and applying our lives to it and applying it to

our lives. Today we're going to do that by looking at Proverbs 21 verse 11. But before

we get there I want to remind you there is a companion journal that goes with the morning

Please check that out. All right today we're going to be talking about instruction and

punishment and the roles that they play in the lives of a wise person. Proverbs 21 verse

number 11 says when a scoffer is punished the simple becomes wise when a wise man is

instructed he gains knowledge. So there's a couple of things I think here that God is

doing through communicating these things to us. First off he's pointing out this person

who he calls a scoffer. What is scoffing? Well it's a what a person hears the things that

a person says and does and kind of goes yeah right you know they they are kind of proud

they're a person who is making fun of things they're a person who doesn't take seriously

the important things of life that's a scoffer and when God punishes a scoffer it says

the intention is that the simple become wise. Now that word simple means the foolish person

or the person who maybe is naive and doesn't understand the way things work and he's saying

punishment is not only intended to bring about a change in the person being punished

but it's also a demonstration for others who maybe haven't had to make that mistake
