I'm John Batchel. The Friends History Debating Society, Jeremy Zackis is here, and it's time for cricket analysis.

Last week, if you'll recall, Australia, the champions of last summer, Australia confidently taking on Sri Lanka, which is a good team, very good team.

Ignore the fact that it's a small island off the coast of India.

Think of it as professional, lifelong, dedicated, they dream, they eat, they sleep, cricket.

That's just who they are.

Everybody in the country dreams and sleeps and thinks cricket all the time. Sri Lanka, old name

Ceylon. So when I left, last left Mr. Zakis, he was confidently predicting an easy win for

Australia. I think we had one of the batsmen was up, had a 50. I don't remember, but a series of

sixes hitting the ball over the edge of the

pitch. And then I read this headline and I'm going, what happened? All right, Jeremy, what

happened? Well, John, just for the record, the first series that you're talking about, we did win that decisively against Shalanka.

You know, we beat them into the dirt.

So let's just relish in that for a moment here.

Now, but what has happened?

And I feel like I may have jinxed our team somehow is that in this test, there was actually a second series, which was going to be played this week. And I might have been a little bit overconfident last week when we were chatting about how well we were

going to do against Sri Lanka again. Because what's happened this week, John, I hate to admit it,

is that Australia, they only got beaten by Sri Lanka in this second series. They got beaten

terribly, so much so that Australia now holds the record for the lowest scoring

one-day international team ever in the history of cricket getting all out for only 107 runs.

So this is all nine players that have to get out for the team to be completely out for only

107 runs, which if you put that that perspective, means that each player, all these

professional cricketers, only got about 12 runs at most each.
