This is the Friends of History Debating Society. I'm John Bachelor with Jeremy

Zachos in New South Wales. It is Palms time. Whenever there's an

opportunity we report on the Palms, which is the England team, because we're looking for

ashes to be played at the end of this calendar year. However, the Palms are good copy anywhere in Australia. If the day is going

slowly or badly you check on the Palms. Now we have a way of beating up on the

Palms that I never knew about. Jeremy, the palms were playing Sri Lanka.

Something bad happened and the palms didn't catch it.

What?

What happened? Well, this is unusual, John. It was basically a very normal player was just a normal bowl and what looked like the ball just bounced past the batsman. The batsman went for the ball but it wasn't close enough so let it go. The wicket keeper took the ball and everyone

thought nothing of it except the Pomey Captain. And this is what was weird because the first inkling that we knew something was wrong was

Ollie Pope the captain was speaking to one of his key players Joe Ruet about

something and we couldn't really figure out what it was because the ball

just naturally went fast there was nothing contentious about it.

But then we saw Oly Pope do what we have in cricket basically call this decision review system.

So we can call for a third umpire which looks at the videotape to see if the player or a player was basically out.

We saw Ollie Pope call for the third umpire to say, have a closer look at that ball

and see if the banner actually hit the ball before the

wicked keeper behind them for it. Which if that happened, then the ball would be out because if

the batter hits the ball, it's still and the wicketkeeper can catch it and get

them out.

So be it.
