I'm John Batchel. This is the Friends of History Debating Society. Jeremy and I have been

scaring each other with snake stories, so it's time to not scare each other, but simply talk strategy.

Cricket is a gentleman's game, also a gentlelady's game. Australia has a very good cricket team,

female cricket team. At the same time,

accidents happen. Now, some of the events we've been talking about these last weeks have to do

with what is marginally bad sportsmanship. One of the most dangerous parts of playing big league

baseball, this is North American version, Is outfielders running into infielders

when they're searching for a pop-up? That's extremely dangerous. They've patted the walls of all

the major stadiums. There used to be danger when they would run down a ball and hit the wall. Not so much

anymore. But running into your teammate going full blast to catch a pop-up you have

no eyes in front or back you don't feel a thing the crowd is roaring and that is dangerous well

And I think it's to do with the fact that in the cricket field, being a 360-degree field

around where the batters and the bowlers are, there's a lot of empty space.

So when you have your fielders out in the cricket field, they're actually quite well spaced.

Except there is times when basically you know how the bat is going to hit a ball

and as, say, a team captain, you'll actually put some of your field as more densely packed

into a certain part of the field. And that's actually what's happened this week in Perth. It was

a game between the Sydney Thunder and the Perth scorches. So it's two National League cricket

teams, so two League cricket teams,

so two state cricket teams going head to head there for a T20,
