you your weather is excellent so we go to Alice Springs. Where is that and what is the weather there?

Gidde, John. Yes, Alice Springs, if you have a look at a map of Australia, Alice Springs is a city pretty much immediately in the

middle of the map. So it's actually in the Northern Territory, which is our central northern

state in Australia and it's very much in what's called the Australian Outback.

So it's a very isolated city.

It's around about 150,000 people population and it's pretty much the only thing literally

for thousands and thousands of

kilometers there. Now as you can imagine being in the middle of

Australia being amongst the deserts nine times out of ten or

99% of the time is actually has very nice weather in fact very hot weather and completely try but but

John this week it's actually started to get rain and not just a little bit of rain I have a lot of

rain so what we're talking about now in Alice Springs and not just a little bit of rain, a lot of rain.

So what we're talking about now in Alice Springs

is the fact that they're actually starting to experience flooding.

They're actually starting to experience large downpours.

And these aren't very short downpours that, they happen they go away and that's all good they're

actually consistent so right now John Alice Springs is actually looking like it could go to a state of

emergency because of flooding whereas normally it would be because of the drought.
