I'm John Bacheler. I welcome Jeremy Zacus of New South Wales,

here to report on Australia news, but we begin with a Australia reporting on North American news.

Within these last days and hours, the balloons, surveillance balloons,

linked to the People's Republic of China, linked to a PLA unit

that uses these balloons for surveillance of national security sites.

The first balloon to come to our attention over North America was shot down off the coast of South Carolina.

Recovery plans are underway.

The second balloon was over South America, Costa Rica, Colombia, perhaps of Venezuela, unknown ends.

The third balloon in these last hours and days spotted over Alaska.

And this time, the National Security Apparatist did not wait.

The order was given, and F-22 and its escort went up and shot that balloon down over Alaska,

said to be near an Alaskan town called Dead Horse.

They're searching for it, but the conditions are not perfect.
