On this episode of the Dr. Tina show, I am coming to you from the Big Island of Hawaii.

It's my 50th birthday, and I'm here for the week on vacation, and we finally got some lovely weather so very excited about that and I'm excited about

0:22.7

this episode I've been racking my brain on how to put this together but what I'm going to

0:27.5

talk to you about today is the idea behind sustained weight loss and just how absolutely difficult

0:36.1

it is and this brings me into the subject I've been talking

0:40.7

a lot about lately, which is the GLP1 agonist, the peptides that you're hearing about in the

0:47.1

brand name form are, you know, Wagovi, Monjaro, Ozpec, and the compounded versions that are popular are

0:56.6

semaclyutite, terseptite. Those are the generic names for those brand names, by the way.

And if you go back and listen to my prior episodes about this topic, which I'll link in the show

1:07.0

notes, you will hear me describe a different approach. And so many of you have been

1:13.1

terrified into thinking that these were just deadly, terrible drugs. And while I do agree that they are

1:23.2

being overutilized at too high of doses without any other comprehensive treatment plan in place,

1:30.9

I disagree that they're dangerous. And I cover that in detail in prior episodes, so I won't

1:35.4

belaborate here. But something that's very interesting to me is how many influencers out there

1:40.9

who I otherwise thought were really intelligent, just keep going on and on

1:46.5

about it's all about dietary changes. It's all about, you know, calories in calories out, just

1:53.2

eat less and move more. I mean, just the ignorance. I don't know if it's intentional or what.

1:59.1

It's really reminding me of 2020. It's really

2:02.9

reminding me of a few years ago. And it's very odd because what I'm seeing unfold is really,

2:09.3

in my opinion, a lot of fatophobia. I am a firm believer in using a comprehensive treatment

2:15.1

plan to help patients. That's the oath I took. I'm not a health
