Welcome to the Black Girl Burnout podcast, Kelly here. And today I'm going to talk all about how to

0:16.1

own yourself. This is a conversation that I've been having with many people in my life and it's

0:22.3

been on my heart to talk about. We started the week by talking about it's goodness or get

0:27.2

out. And really, I want this week to feel like an empowering check-in as we're a little bit

0:34.1

halfway through the year about really the goals of this podcast,

0:39.0

what I want the goal to be of your life, which is to opt at a struggle. And one of the ways to

0:44.4

get there is by fully owning yourself. Like I said, this was a conversation I had with someone

0:51.5

just recently. And I've been having it again and again with

0:55.4

many other people. And when I talk about what I'm most proud of when it comes to myself,

1:01.9

is that I fully own who I am. I know I was recently talking to my mother about this, and we

1:08.6

were talking about many different things, but I was saying how I'm really proud of the fact that it has been hard fought to get here,

1:18.3

but that I know myself well enough to know the good points, the bad points, and because I own

1:25.1

myself, no one can dump on me, no one can project on me, no one can

1:32.3

leave me with their emotional litter in my little yard that I've curated for myself,

1:38.6

more on that conversation this Friday. But because I show up owning who I am, my life has radically changed for the better.

1:50.6

And I will continue to say that's probably the thing I'm most proud of.

1:55.0

Because once I foundationally unlocked full empowerment and ownership of who I am, everything else is becoming easier and will

2:06.2

become easier from here on out. And so today I want to talk about how you can own yourself,

2:14.3

really fully stand in the power of who you are and take accountability. But beyond that,

2:22.1

have that be your biggest strength that you are someone who knows who you are. And because of that,

2:28.0

you can no longer be gaslit. You can no longer be made to feel guilty. You no longer have

2:32.9

shame. You can only have pride and acknowledgement
