So the world found out late last night

that the Philadelphia Flyers second round series against the Carolina Hurricanes will be starting

on Saturday night at 8 p.m. in Raleigh, just two days in between the Flyers big win in game

six that closed out the Pittsburgh Penguins and the start of their second series.

According to head coach Rick Tocket, the Flyers didn't find out much sooner than the rest of

the world. They were told around 1140 last night that the Flyers would be playing on Saturday

against the Canes. They haven't had a lot of time either to prepare for this series.

Now, Caroline, on the other hand, you know, yes, they didn't know who they were going to be

playing until the Flyers took down the Penguins on Wednesday night, won nothing in overtime,

but they have had a significantly longer break.

They closed out their series against the Ottawa Senators last Saturday, April 25th,

so they'll be getting basically a full week in between games, whereas the flyers are

only be getting two days. Now, the question is, who benefits more from their respective gaps in

between series? Now, the Keynes obviously will be able to use that week to get healthier. They had a

couple guys banged up at the end of that Senator series. We'll see if guys like Nikitian and Eilers

will be available for game one, unclear yet. But the Flyers, despite the fact they won't get the same recuperation time, they do have a benefit as well in the sense that they're going to be able to roll their momentum from that big win against Pittsburgh right into Saturday in a way that the Cains will not. Rick Tocke was asked about it after practice today, and he more or less said that that, hey, there could be a benefit to being able to keep that momentum going. Yeah, no, I'm not going to lie, I told my players this at 1140 when we found out. My mind went, oh, man, I wish we had two more days to prepare, but then I'm thinking, no, I want to stay with

the same routine. So that's what I want our players out the same mindset is, you know, we,
