The Notre Dame football program had not endured defensive struggles like it had today since,

well, the last time they came out here to play USC.

But this time's a different story on the scoreboard, Notre Dame 49, USC 35.

And it was a game.

I don't think anyone could have predicted in terms of how well USC passed the ball,

even though we tried to show a little concern and respect for their talent compared to what Notre Dame had faced in the last two months.

But, J.B., Notre Dame's running game, got it done, and they will be hosting a college football playoff game,

potentially the first ever college football playoff game in December.

Yeah, absolutely. We talked about it in instant analysis immediately after the game down by the field.

This was true, complimentary football.

And it was needed.

The way this game evolved was also needed with all the people that Notre Dame did not have

available by the time this game ended.

I think that's very significant.

But Notre Dame finds a way to win. I think it's

significant that Notre Dame began its season on the road and hostile territory against a

power conference opponent, got the job done, finished its regular season on the road, less

hostile environment, but it got loud at times. It got loud, actually, yeah. And finds a way to get

it done.

And I think that as things continue to unfold,

Notre Dame just keeps stacking a resume better and better,

not only because it's taking care of its business,
