We thought Notre Dame would handle the day. We thought Notre Dame's defense would clearly be the best

unit in the field, but I don't think any of us saw 40 to 8 for Notre Dame. I know John Bryce, your score is a lot better indicator of

what might happen and what did than ours were. I think both Tim Priester and I felt Oregon State

would put up a little bit more of a fight defensively, and since Tim and I have talked a bit on

instant analysis, I'd like to get your thoughts, John, on exactly what you saw out there,

especially the final three quarters in post-fake punt,

where Notre Dame just dominated thereafter.

Yeah, you understood what Oregon State was doing with the fake pun.

It was desperate.

It had absolutely nothing to lose, but in having nothing to lose,

it absolutely lost everything from that point

onward. And Notre Dame had controlled the game to that point. I never felt Notre Dame was really

threatened whatsoever. Notre Dame's defense was excellent, two, I think, two net rushing yards

for the game. Notre Dame with more than 40 minutes time of possession. I'd written in my

prediction that I felt like Notre Dame would be the deeper,

more talented team, even with all the opt-outs on both sides of the ball.

I felt that Notre Dame would be the better coach team and the more stable team on both

sides of the ball.

I think we saw that.

I think we continued to see great work overall from Marty Biagi and the special teams unit.

So a really thorough win.
