Summary

it's me.....hi......I'm the problem....it's me 😮‍💨 In this episode, we're talking about why needing to be right, acting superior, taking things too personally, and being too self absorbed makes us harder to be around. I share ways to let go of these habits that push people away so you can show up better for the people in your life (and be much more pleasant to be around)

🤎Let go of the need to be right
🤎Let go of the need to be superior
🤎Stop being so offended
🤎Stop caring so much what people think
🤎Let go of the main character syndrome

Hello, welcome to our welcome back to Trinidad to Care. If you're new here, my name is Ashley,

0:05.8

and I upload every single Monday, and I'm so happy to have you. If you haven't already, or you just

0:10.3

like don't know, there's a new group chat if you want to join it and meet some new friends. I'll

0:15.7

have that linked in the show notes. But I just kind of want to dive right into today's topic.

0:20.6

Have you ever been around someone who

0:22.6

is just insufferable to be around? They have no self-awareness, especially when it comes to how they

0:28.3

treat people. They're just really difficult to be around or difficult to be involved with because

0:35.3

of how they act and how they make you feel? Well, a lot of these people

0:40.0

are the way they are because they cannot put their pride aside. They care way too much more

0:47.3

about how they look than how they make people feel. Those same people are incapable of understanding why people don't want to

0:57.1

continue friendships or relationships with them or why people don't like them. They can't grasp the

1:03.9

idea that it might be something that they're doing. They blame everyone else but themselves.

1:08.8

They can't see themselves as the problem. I'm sure we all know at least one person like this, but what if we are that person? It's really hard to admit when you are the problem. So today I want to talk about overcoming your ego and how to be a much more enjoyable person. There's a few

1:28.7

things that I believe will help you overcome your ego and help you shift your mindset and shift

1:35.0

your behavior so that way you're more pleasant to be around. We're going to talk about letting

1:40.4

go of the need to be right, the need to be superior, being offended, your

1:44.8

reputation, and main character syndrome. Whether this episode gives you validation about someone

1:51.8

who's been driving you nuts and it's a nice little event session or you find yourself relating

1:57.8

to these topics and it helps you personally. I hope that you like this

2:02.2

episode. So let's get into it. The first thing that you're going to let go of is the need to be right.

2:08.9

No one is keeping track of how smart you are or how right you are, but I can promise you that people

2:15.9

will remember how you made them feel stupid or how you made
