Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Leverne Cox Show. I'm Laverne Cox. So earlier this year, I was on the talk show, The View,

and I was talking about this podcast. And the next day, I got a message from a friend saying

that Billy Porter wanted to call me. And they gave me Billy's number. I called Billy. I think

he was on set somewhere working. And he's like, I saw you on the

view. And you were talking about attachment theory. I was like, I'm working on this. And let me just

reach out to her. And I'm so proud of you. It was just, he was really sweet. And we talked about

his journey and the work that he's doing to heal some of his trauma. And it was just a beautiful conversation.

And I was like, would you want to come on the podcast and talk about some of this stuff?

And he said, absolutely. And I was like, I know you have a book coming out later this year, right?

And he's like, absolutely. Let's do it. And so here we are.
