Everybody around us this summer, I say everybody, but our eyes were open to it in the last year that there's a lot of folks in their 30s that are our age that we're seeing their marriage fall apart and that scared us.

After 11 years, Brett's marriage had grown stale.

Those first few years of marriage can be so exciting and so full of change and

sometimes there are challenges even that you might not see coming. I'm John

Fuller along with Dr. Greg Smalley and his wife

Aaron and you both shared such great stories about those first years of

marriage and unexpected obstacles.

Give us some ideas about challenges that really surprised you the most.

I'd say what comes to my mind first and foremost is how much conflict we had. I had no idea that we would have that

much conflict. Of course we had no idea what we were doing and how to have a productive healthy conflict as well as I had no idea how much growing up I had to do.
