My name is Mike Gomer Gormley. And I am joined today by my illustrious co-host, Dave, the retreat master of Van Vickle. How you doing, Dave? Okay, the retreat master. I'll take it. The retreat, I feel like eventually that's just all you're going to do. You're just going to run retreats I was doing all those religious order retreats I really that was one of the best years of my life

I really enjoyed it but you didn't make that money because of that vow of poverty

ugh it's the worst no I like that though but uh dude I am dying here man do you know

you've seen this snow that i'm in right now

no what what do you what do you have couple feet it's terrible i hate it so couple feet

i'm so tired of so we're dealing with this winter snap this crazy winter freak storm whatever

everyone's calling it and my mom called me and she goes how you do my baby how

it's everything over there and I'm like oh we're fine she goes are you guys winterizing are you

preparing and she's running through the checklist like I'm 17 and uh it's so it's so it's like one

of my favorite things right was it that bad so no I mean that weather storm system that came through

that's hitting you swooped through and it started like

Texas area so but the funny thing was all the maps I was looking at it like comes in diagonally

basically it's like Dallas to Wichita and then it kind of fanned out from there hitting St. Louis

other places but for us it got cold it got freezing rain you know stuff like that but that was it and my mom

i knew this was going to bother her so much i go yeah but the kicker is uh i'm flying to nebraska

and she goes Nebraska when it was like sunday night to monday evening she's like, but that's during the storm.

It was so funny. But the roads were fine. Everything was fine. And I flew over this. It was wild flying over a storm, like a snowstorm. Oh, that was weird. Yeah, but they're ready for it at least. I mean, it's different than down there. Yeah, down here where they are not ready. but like driving to the airport, it was like a ghost town. It was like COVID or like a hurricane. Like no one's on the road except me because I'm an idiot. It was, it was funny because at the exorcism conference, it was like everybody was like, well, we got weather coming next week. And then it got more and more aggressive as the week went on. And then the last day they're like, we're just going to have mass tomorrow and everybody go because everyone's like rushing. They're desperately trying to get home. Everyone went to the Saturday vigil mass. Right. It was standing room only. It was pretty nuts. Funny story. So I go to that man is you. Some of the corporate guys, you know, Mark and Tom, they come up to St. Anthony's 10 minutes from my house. And here's the bridge to our special guest today.
