I honestly feel, well, as lost as Cyrus feels, I'm guessing.

Think of it this way.

I know I can hurt people with this power. But Cyrus thinks that maybe I can help people too? Anyway, if that wasn't enough, now he has this rock that can basically stop my powers from working.

Weird that it was the one thing in his pocket when he woke up here. No memory, no ID, no pictures, just one special rock.

He thinks the kryptonite, as he calls it, is a good thing, that it will help with the plan.

And I guess the truth is, it's been a while since I've trusted anyone but myself.
