My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

We begin our prayer today thanking God for the gift of holiness for us.

It is the greatest gift, our relationship with God, redeeming our Lord, redeeming us,

saving us, giving us life, a natural life, first of all, and then

calling us into eternal life. If we are attuned to our Lord's gospel and attuned to his way

and in love with the Lord Jesus and desire us and always desiring to fulfill the will of God

and to be the person that God has called us to be,

which, of course, for us is a little bit of a mystery, right?

Because God knows us better than we know ourselves.

And you know, Lord, that I am full of many defects and many weaknesses that I'm aware of every

And if I'm not careful, I could maybe see things a little bit negatively in terms of my

own relationship with God or my own struggle struggle because we tend to see our weaknesses pretty

clearly.

Once we look at our lives as a way of holiness, we consider the holiness of God in the scriptures

or we consider the holiness of some of the prophets or some of the instruments of

God throughout salvation history, people like Moses.

And we may think, well, how would I ever be anywhere close to as holy as Moses is?
