Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

We are at the Bright Mountain, Janz Nagora in Chenstahova, Poland, where the miraculous

icon of our Lady of Chenstahova is kept. This icon was painted by St Luke himself sitting in a room with Mary painting the icon of her holding the child Jesus, he painted it on a table.

This icon was in Jerusalem until Queen Helena, the mother of Constantine, came to Jerusalem in the year 325.

She then took the icon back to Constantinople and from Constantinople it was given as a gift to a prince of

Ruthenia. A descendant of this prince wanted to take it to Silesia in Germany, but when the horses, drawing the cart, carrying the icon, reached the bright mountain,

Janz Nagora, they refused to go any further.

So the prince got down on his knees and asked the Blessed

Virgin what to do and he knew there and then that the icon was supposed to stay

here in Cheninstahova.

So he built a monastery fortress.

This is Sunday evening,

and we were just in a packed Basilica, packed to the spilling over with local people who come to be in the presence of their mother, the Queen of Poland.

So we entrust ourselves to Mary, you could feel the presence of the mother of God

palpably at this gathering this evening.

It should be a reminder that because of the deep connection

between Mary and the Holy Spirit, Mary, our mother is present with us at all times,

but we tend to forget. Tonight was a powerful reminder to us that our mother is always present. So let's try to cultivate an

awareness of her presence in our life at all times. Our Father who art in heaven,

hallow it would be your name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be down on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those to trespass
