Hello, Dr. Laura, we're longtime listeners and I'm a first-time caller.

I wish my wife could be with me, but we discussed the fact that I would probably call

with her not with me and it has to do with

an interesting situation we had sitting down talking the other night and we both would

love to get your opinion on it

we uh... having a strange relationship with our older daughter she's

41 years old

uh... gale is my wife is sixty five on sixty seven will be sixty eight she has does she doesn't call the daughter doesn't call on

birthdays or holidays it's been two three years so my wife asked me the other

night while we were sitting down. If I died,

would you tell our daughter that I died? And my immediate reaction was, well, of course.

And then she looked at me funny and said, wow, what if I requested that you not tell her if I passed?

I sat and thought about it and then we got into a little discussion about whether it would be appropriate

because death is different than everything else for communication or if you

know she's kind of checked out of the communications anyway so I guess

she'll miss out on us communicating or me contacting her if her mother died. So that's the reason for the call. I'd love to

get your feedback on this. My feedback would be tell your wife anything she wants to hear and put that to bed and then should she die

You need to inform all your children and family members. Oh, okay. And that's interesting you mentioned that because one of the things
