I hope we had a lovely weekend. Still cold, isn't it? And yet the first DAFs were out this morning,

I noticed as I made my way to the bus stop. That's got to be a sign of spring, being ready to spring.

The reason I'm talking gibberish is because I, for the first time possibly, I don't quite

know how to approach a Brexit-related subject. If you are not familiar with this radio

entertainment, then I should probably point out that it is arguably the single most reliable

place in the whole of the British media for understanding what Brexit would and has

constituted. There was a time when

even government ministers would argue with me about what was likely to happen when, for example,

the Good Friday Agreement came face to face with the decision to remove or attempt to remove

the United Kingdom from the single market and or the customs union.

There were claims that we would have more and cheaper food as a consequence, of course,

of leaving the European Union and more control.

We were going to see, for example, a huge curtailment in the number of refugees making their way to it. I could go on, and I often do.

But I won't today, because how do you do this now?

I need to warn you that for the next six months or so,

Mondays are going to be quite odd,

because I would have spent the previous two days beavering away

in my ivory tower working on my new book, which is a sort of roundup of how we've

ended up in such a strange place as a country, a place where, for example, you know, someone like

Jacob Rees-Mogg can end up in the cabinet or indeed Nadine Doris, or a liar as proven and as

serial as Boris Johnson can not only end up Prime Minister, but once he's finally
