Hello everybody and welcome once again to the award-winning top multiple podcasts from The Athletic, The View from the Lane.

I'm Danny Kelly with me today from The Athletic are Jack Pitt Brook and James Moore.

Before we drive headlong into the events of 2025 in a program that ought really to be

nine hours long, a quick thought on Crystal Palace, because I think it actually clouds my judgment

about the year so far. And what did you make of it, James? A win is really welcome, and I don't

want to down that, but at times again, the football's making my eyes bleed slightly yeah I mean it's the it's the time of year you just want to win

I think isn't it like you don't want a defeat kind of hanging over you over Christmas new year

to go to Selhurst Park a tricky place to go unless you ignore our last couple of results

it wasn't a great performance.

I think they probably improved as the game wore on,

which was possibly down to the fact the way they play is better suited to being

one-nil up than one-nill down or level, I guess.

But I didn't think it was as bad as some of the other results and performance,

or certainly not results results but certainly the performances

as well that we've seen in the last what two or three months so compared to some of that i would

say a positive so how you feel jack i mean there's a pattern emerging here i read your piece in the

athletic there's a definite pattern emerging whether we like football, they seem to be finding a way,

particularly against the lesser teams,

let's say Magister City is an outlier,

of sticking in games until they get ahead,

and then just not hanging on.
