Welcome back to the podcast.

I've got a nice hour-long episode for you guys today from the suspense program,

and this one is called House by the River.

One of my favorites from suspense, by the way.

It stars John McIntyre and Dan O'Hurlohy.

So John McIntyre plays the role of Stephen Burns in today's story.

John McIntyre was born June 27, 1907, and he was an American character actor who appeared in 65 theatrical films and a bunch of television series. He was active in the theater before he embarked on a lengthy film and

television career as a character actor.

He was already 40 when he made his big screen debut in 1947 and went on to appear in

films often portraying police chiefs, judges, eccentric loners, or other Western characters.

He appeared in the Asphalt Jungle of 1950,

Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho of 1960,

and he had roles in westerns, such as the Far Country of 1955 and the 10 star of 1957.

He is well known for replacing Ward Bond in November of 1960 as the star of NBC's wagon train.

He's also well known for having replaced Charles Bickford as the ranch owner Clay Granger

in the Virginian for four seasons.
