sidekick Peter Churin. A day or two later, it was announced that Churnin, the president of Murdoch's News Corporation

and chairman and CEO of Fox, will step down when his contract expires in June.

Are the two things connected?

I don't think so.

Nor do I know who will take Churnan's place.

No one does, and that seems to include Murdoch himself.

In a wonderful upside-down spin on the

tail of the princes plotting to kill the king, none of Rube's kids seem to want the crown.

On the other side of the gold coin, there is much talk about the rich production deal in Chernin's

contract. According to Variety, Fox has to buy at least two movies a year from him if he decides to set up a shingle on the lot.

But according to Kim Masters on the Daily Beast.com, those kinds of deals rarely bear fruit.
