Hello everyone. Today it is January 25th, 2023, and our very own Andrew Lazo is being ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church.

So if sometime today you wouldn't mind sparing a prayer for him

and needless to say for his bishop

that would be very much appreciated

also to mark the occasion

Reverend Malcolm Gite has written and recorded a poem

so I'm going to end this very

For Andrew Lazzo on his ordination, Andrew, you come to Christ just as you are.

That he might take and break you, bless and share,

might make of you his standing sacrament.

For whosoever handles holy things

must trust themselves to heaven's handling.

However hard the knocks, all heaven's sent.

For you have learned like Paul, how he casts down that he may raise and weakens to make strong.

Yet with each fall and rise, your life in Christ is richer still and made more intimate.

When you pour out with wounded hands the wine of his heart's blood and break like flesh his bread,

when Christ in you and you in Christ are shared, then priests and people,

both alike are fed.
