How to love your children.

It would seem that that ought to be the most natural thing in the world that we wouldn't

need to be taught, but we do need to be taught what love is.

And according to 1 Corinthians 13, we find out that it's not feelings.

It is not a mood, it is not a temperament, it is most certainly not a matter of genes.

And God help us all, it is not a matter of a glandular condition.

Love is action.

And it says in Titus 2 verses 3 to 5, that the older women are to teach the younger women

to love their children.

Now I want to say to every woman in this room, you are an older woman.

I don't care if you are 16 or 20 or 70, there are younger women looking up to you.

I remember very clearly how it was to be a nine year old girl and my next door neighbor

was Ruth Ritchie who was 15 and to me Ruth Ritchie was an older woman.

She was full grown, adult, everything that I aimed to be, I wish I could be as beautiful

as Ruth, I wanted to do my hair like her, dress like her, I wanted to walk like her and

I'm sure she had no idea that I was scrutinizing every move she made in every word she said.
