Welcome to the Black Girl Burnout podcast, Kelly here. And it is officially 2025, and we are kicking off our special month of activity called New Year Healed Me.

0:23.7

This episode is going to be breaking down what's to come in the next 30 days, how we are best going to utilize this month, what the podcast has in store, the amazing guests that I have coming on this month.

0:37.4

And we're going to talk about our top three intentions for this year, really,

0:42.3

as well as what you can do at home by yourself to figure out what your top three intentions are,

0:49.3

why you've chosen them and how you're going to apply little bits of them in each day.

0:55.1

The goal of New Year healed me is in the title. It is a rejection of New Year's resolutions

1:02.5

and these kinds of, I feel, oppressive rules we make for ourselves. Every year we walk into

1:09.6

1:41.8

of busyness, that perfection trap, where we're always trying

1:45.3

to reinvent and improve and make better to the point where we can't actually just enjoy our lives.

1:51.3

So maybe it's not a new version of yourself. Maybe actually you want to take with you all the

1:56.6

lessons you've learned at whatever year you find yourself on this planet and put them into practice.

2:02.9

Maybe what you want to is to be a more healed, a more healthy version of yourself, not a new.

2:11.2

And that's the thought behind the theme of the New Year healed me. Ultimately, it's a call for myself, always, and to all of you, beautiful black women who

2:21.6

listen to this podcast to put down the need to redo everything.

2:26.7

And instead, think about ways you can be the best version of you, the most healed version.

2:32.8

And to help you with that, we have a special month

2:36.2

of some exceptional programming. I want to tell you how excited I am. We've got a little bit
