Welcome to the Black Girl Burnout podcast. Kelly here. And today I want to talk about how to fall in love with being alive. This is a long-a-th theme we've had all week about finding joy in the now, being able to go beyond

0:24.9

aesthetics and develop inner beauty and inner joy and happiness. And I wanted to close out the

0:31.6

week by giving more practical and grounded tools on how to actually put these concepts in action. I know many of you are thinking, have

0:40.8

you looked at the world, have you turned on the news, have you just set five seconds in my life?

0:46.8

It is really hard to fall in love with being alive when all these things are happening.

0:53.1

And trust me, I understand that very well. As someone I've

0:58.3

told you before, when I talked about the episodes about opting out of fighting and opting

stress that has been occurring in my life.

1:30.0

New Year, new me, I hope this is not the new me permanently.

1:39.1

I hope there's going to be more things to come, and I know there will be.

1:46.0

And the part of the reason I can then say and write episodes like fall in love with being alive is despite the chaos and the pain

1:53.7

and the anxiety and the stress that I am having in multiple areas of my life, I still am in love with my life. More days than not, and I will be

2:05.9

honest, it's not every day I wake up with a song in my heart and feeling like, and I have the

2:10.7

best life ever. But more days than not, I do wake up in a space of gratitude and I am grateful for the life that I have

2:21.3

and I see the potential goodness that is coming my way. And instead of seeing it as I cannot have a

2:29.0

moment of uninterrupted joy, something I recently told my therapist, It feels like all my joy is being tainted.

2:36.3

Instead, I can most days reframe that to, even in my darkest moments, there are always these
