Last week, you know, I mentioned the dreaded B word. And I said so many people have a strong

0:23.7

response to the idea of a budget. I being one of those people. And so instead I said, what about

0:29.9

just thinking about boundaries around your money? Because that's really what a budget is. It is setting

0:35.1

boundaries, is setting guardrails to enable you to be financially

0:39.6

well and successful. So today, I want to dive a little bit deeper into the B word. We're going to use

budgeting in the context of black joy, of black woman joy, and see if we can't get you to

1:08.9

feel a little bit better about having a budget and teach you new

1:13.1

ways to frame your budget so that it is maximizing your joy and opting you out of struggle.

1:41.8

Good for you.

1:43.1

I'm not somebody who

1:44.3

loves budgeting and it's not connected to whether I'm doing well financially or not. I'm somebody

1:50.4

who just really struggles with structure to that detail. So if you tell me I've got to look on

1:57.5

every category and see how much I spent on my Netflix subscription and see how much I spent on my car insurance.

2:04.1

I'm kind of, frankly, bored.
