I don't know what to make of the weather, really.

I woke up this morning, looked out the window and thought,

so I'm going to have to take an umbrella again out,

which I think is pretty much every single day this week.

Yeah, I mean, I suppose in a way we should be sort of happy in that we've all been vindicated

that there's all idea that we're all going to cook to death every summer.

Which is what they told us last year.

Yeah, it's a load of nonsense.

However, that does mean we don't get a summer for being proven right.

Well, I was saying this yesterday, I said, if you want summer, you just have to go somewhere else. Yeah. You go to Greece where it's very hot apparently.

You're going to Dubai where it's about 45 degrees if you wish.

The pursuit of hot weather has motivated the Brits for centuries, actually.

It's how we forged an empire basically trying to find somewhere slightly more pleasant to be in the winter.

And I tend to think actually it's a good thing that we live in quite a rainy island because it does motivate you actually to to get stuff done otherwise if we were mediteranes we'd be saturn doing absolutely nothing yeah exactly right and i mean actually the economy despite

everything that's being said during this election campaign is not doing all that badly you know

we had zero growth in april but actually compared to a lot of other countries in europe where they

are all basking in the in the glow of warm weather yeah we're actually

outperforming them although they in some of those countries they don't pay very much tax and i do

look on at them enviously given what the tax is about to become a very good way to get into

the story this morning because we'll come back to reform overtaking the tories but an awful lot of the
