Jessica Brandt knows a lot about influence. She was the director of the Foreign

Malign Influence Center, which served as an intermediary between the U.S. intelligence

community and the public. It alerted people to disinformation operations orchestrated by

adversaries overseas.

She explains how the toolkit has gotten larger, more sophisticated,

and is being wielded by more countries than ever before. I mean, I can't remember you, she had a lot. It's my very common way of being interested in fact.

It's not really good to make.

It's not quite a lot of just why I have a lot of years.

And we're together and we gather in practice.

I mean, it's not a time when it's just so exciting to think about the Internet

and how people more connected and the kind of information that we want to want.

And I certainly wasn't thinking at the time about how an authoritarian country is going to exert influence or try to steam disinformation on this.
