0:05.6	newsletter is going to be oneitis. We have an email here from a guy who is obviously suffering
0:15.0	from oneitis. He even says at the end of his email that she could be the one.
0:22.3	So this is pretty common because we all tend to project our fantasy of what we want onto other
0:28.4	people and we often ignore the fact that it's just simply not mutual.
0:35.7	And where this can become a problem is we project his fantasy and we ignore the fact
0:41.1	that they're not reciprocating interests, they're not doing anything to make it easy to get together
0:45.9	on a date. And people can get hung up, especially this guy, this particular woman, I think he met
0:53.3	about a year ago. And so for last year, she this guy, this particular woman, I think he met about a year ago. And so for the last
0:56.2	year, she's been on his mind constantly. So he goes through their interactions, the context of it,
1:04.9	and he also shares their text exchange after he ended up seeing her in person with a mutual group of friends. There's a lot of
1:12.8	things going on and he's also involving other people in their mutual group of friends. And he
1:20.5	doesn't realize that this is simply not going to be helpful in how they portray him because most
1:27.3	people don't know what they're doing and they
1:28.8	try to be helpful and all I end up doing is making the other person look weak and undesirable.
1:36.5	So I got a quote that I wrote and then we'll go through his email.
1:40.4	The quote says people tend to project their dating fantasy onto potential lovers, but often overlook and ignore the fact the objects of their affections have little to no romantic interest in them.
1:55.5	The harsh reality is that most of the people who you want to date won't have mutual high interest in you.
2:03.3	Approaching potential romantic partners should be seen as an opportunity to gauge their interest and compatibility,
2:11.1	not as a major life event. People who like you will be enthusiastic to talk to you, curious about you, and excited to spend
2:21.3	time with you. When they aren't, don't take it personally. You simply have to get through the
2:27.8	nose in order to get to the yeses. You will fail more than you succeed, but you only need one good one for magic to happen.
