You guys, we did it. We made it through another year, 2024 is upon us. If you've been listening

to this show, you know what that means. It's a presidential election year. We're going to

be covering the ins and outs of the race a lot on this show in the months ahead,

but I want it to take some time today to lay out some of the stakes.

Because beyond poll numbers and campaign ads and debates, in the end, what matters most is what will happen if ex-candidate is elected.

The Republican front runner, former President Donald Trump, has been clear about what

he plans to do with a potential second term.

And many have said a lot of those plans sound pretty authoritarian.

We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascist, and the radical

left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.

If I happen to be president and I see somebody who's doing well and beating me very badly,

I say, go down and indict them.

We love this guy.

He says, you're not going to be a dictator, are you?

I said, no, no, no, other than day one.

We're closing the border and we're drilling, drilling, drilling.

After that, I'm not a dictator.

That sounds to me like you're going back to the policy when you're president.

And there's always this debate about the former president.

Should we take him seriously, but not literally?

Or should everything he says be considered an explicit promise?
