| 0:00.0 | Welcome back to Drilled. I'm Amy Westervalt. This week a really important study was released |
| 0:17.5 | from a frequent voice on Drilled, Robert Broul visiting scholar at Brown University |
| 0:24.1 | and Environmental Sociologist. Broul looked at the role of PR firms in blocking |
| 0:32.3 | climate action, as subject we've covered a lot in this podcast. And what he found |
| 0:37.6 | when he looked at which firms the utilities and coal companies and oil and |

| 1:30.9 | all of the various PR folks involved in helping to block climate action |
| 1:37.0 | including we also just recently did an episode of our other podcast rigged on |
| 1:44.4 | Edelman and their role in particularly astroturfing. This strategy where |
| 1:51.2 | companies or industries will create front groups that seem like grassroots |
| 1:56.2 | groups that are in fact before by a company or industry group. We're going to |
| 2:01.8 | bring you that story today after the break and next week a conversation with |
| 2:07.3 | Bob Bull and former Edelman VP Christine Arena. Hope you enjoy today's |
| 2:14.0 | episode and come back next week for that conversation. |
| 2:24.2 | It's simple supply and demand. More abundant energy means more affordable |
