Today's episode has two parts and one theme. Conceptually I want you thinking about the difference one person can make.

We're about to enter probably one of the toughest years in our country's history, a year that could

quite honestly end the American experiment and send us down a path of darkness and fear.

But America has been through crises before and the question is, what are you going to do to fight

for what's right in a time when so much is wrong. To talk about this I've asked my friend

David Bender to come and join us because he is someone who time and again has stood up and

fought for what was right in this country and he is fired up to do it again.

David is a Democratic strategist, an author, producer, and former talk radio host.

He spent five decades as a political activist beginning when he took what he calls a leave of absence from seventh

grade to become a full-time volunteer for Bobby Kennedy's presidential campaign.

David went on to report on the presidential campaigns of Richard Nixon, George McGovern and Herbert

Humphrey. He was a key aid to the legendary liberal activist Allard Lowenstein, pivotal in

both the Civil Rights Movement and the anti-Vietnam War movement.

David served on the National Field Staff for California Governor Jerry Brown 76 presidential

campaign and Senator Edward Kennedy's 1980 presidential campaign.

When JFK Jr. launched his political and cultural magazine George, David was his first

West Coast contributing editor.
