Hello, my friends. Welcome back. Here we are in the morning mind set once again, our opportunity

to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's work. In today in God's word, we're

looking again at John 666 through 71 and covered this yesterday, but there's so much

in there. I want to take another stab at it because we need to look at something. John

666 through 71 says, after this, many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked

with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, do you want to go away as well? Simon Peter answered

him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of life, and we have believed and

have come to know that you are the Holy One of God. Jesus answered them, did I not choose

you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil? He spoke of Judas, the son of Simon

Ascariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to portray him. Now, the situation really

needs a little bit of setup, so you understand why people were turning away from him. You

can go back with the last two episodes of the morning mind set to get the details on

that, or you can just read the section of Scripture right ahead of John 666. But what I want

to focus in on today is what Jesus means by one of you is a devil. I mean, that's a little

bit confusing. So when Jesus turns to them, when all these people are turning away and

says, are you also going to turn away from me? Peter answers quite well that there's

no one else they can go to, no one else who has the words of eternal life that Jesus has.

And then Jesus responds to Peter, and that's what we're going to focus in on today in

verse 70. He says, did I not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil? He

spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. For he, one of the twelve, was going to portray

him. If you have heard the story of Jesus before, you know there was one of his disciples
