I have thrilled today to be joined by Debbie Mou Carcel Powell, the Democratic candidate for the United States Senate in the great state of Florida running against the very worst MAGA senator, someone who has betrayed his oath, breached the public trust, was found liable for Medicare fraud. Back in the day,

we'll talk about that for a second or two. But American politics at its core as a character

test. And it was always understood as such. So I'm really happy to show today to all of you out there, Florida's Democratic, Senate candidate does not matter

if you do not live in Florida. This is a winnable race. Donate to this race. Get involved in this race.

You can write letters. You can write postcards. This office is a United States

Senator. And we have a crisis of competence in the United States Senate. We have a crisis of

character in the United States Senate. We have a crisis of extremism in the United States Senate.

So I am thrilled, Debbie, to welcome you here today

to talk about the race, talk about how you're going to win. The first day I want to start out by saying

is a lot of people have lost hope that Democrats can win in Florida, who live in Washington, D.C., who look back at what I think are some

pretty bad candidates and come to the conclusion that a great candidate like you can't win.

How are you dealing with that?

Yeah, you know, this is the perception that the Republicans here in the state of Florida

have created.

And we had a terrible cycle in 2022.

So that really confirmed what they had been saying, that this is going to become a, you know,

Ruby Red State.

And it's just not true.

These extremists who have taken over our state and who have been passing

the most extreme laws here in the state legislature, they don't represent the value of Floridians.

I've been saying this for quite some time. Florida remains a bright purple state. But what has

happened in the past, you know, two, four years? Governor DeSantis actually passed a map that was extremely gerrymandered,
