Hey there from CNN. I'm David Rind with the five things you need to know for Thursday,

January 22nd. President Donald Trump met today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. U.S. Envoy, Steve Witkhov, says negotiations

to end Russia's war in the country were, quote, down to one issue.

And a European official confirmed to CNN that one issue is about territory.

The meeting was good with President Zelensky.

We'll see how it turns out.

A lot of people are being killed.

The war has to end.

But Trump did warn there's still, quote, a ways to go.

Meanwhile, Zelensky criticized European leaders on their lack of action when it comes to the war and instead focusing on Greenland.

Europe still remains in Greenland mode. Maybe someday someone will do something. Europe looks lost,

trying to convince the U. the US president to change.

But he will not change.

But in a sign that talks are really heating up, Zelensky says officials from the US, Ukraine,

and Russia will meet in the United Arab Emirates over the next two days.
