You're probably wondering why we're dropping an episode outside of our normal schedule.

The truth is it's because the topic we're going to be talking about in this one I think is important

enough to not bury in a regular episode and knowing our listeners I'm sure you're all going to agree.

I've got a wife, two daughters, I've got two sisters, and many other wonderful women in my life that I absolutely love dearly and sadly an

issue they have to deal with is the potential for breast cancer in fact I was

recently informed that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

That is an astoundingly high number that frankly freaks me out.

Unfortunately, there's not much one can do to fully prevent this type of cancer.

Rather, the goal is to catch it as early as possible

and then for those people to receive treatment

before things get real bad.

Now this treatment is not easy. I've known a couple of people who've gone through it and they're absolute warriors in my book.

One of these people is owner of Yakima Washington's CLS Farms, Shelly Damore, a two-time breast cancer survivor who helps to run the

wonderful nonprofit called One in Eight, which raises awareness and money for

cancer care services in the Yakima Valley. Shelly, thank you so much for coming

on the show today to talk about this incredibly important subject.
