We've reached the end of another tumultuous week in the world of international politics, of international news.

Yesterday we were following that terrible, horrific story from Southeast France,

where a Syrian refugee

decided to be a great idea to go around stabbing toddlers, stabbing nursery school-age children.

Those children are still recovering.

They're still in life-threatening conditions in hospital in Southeast France.

We'll bring you more on that as the story breaks because it is a massive story.

And it is also an indication

is it not of what has troubled Western Europe for the best part of the last 10 years.

The perpetrator of that attack had been here for 10 years, had been living in Sweden,

married to a woman with who he had children. He had got asylum in Sweden. He was a Christian

from Syria, chased out of Syria by ISIS, by the looks of things.

He then got divorced from the woman in question. He left Sweden, came to France, decided he would seek asylum in France.

The French decided not to give him asylum, not least because he was found guilty of benefit fraud while he was in Sweden.

I said this to Jeremy Carl earlier on,

and I dare say there will be people who will be critical of me for saying it.

But I said, remember what Britain was like 30 years ago, and ask yourself this question,

is it better now or is it worse? I think we all know the answer to that, and I think it's a

subject that people don't like to talk about, immigration is great, we are told by the Labour Party.
