At 9 p.m. East Coast time, President Trump announced his choice of Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Protesters had already lined up at the Supreme Court building, and during the evening, they were joined

by some Senate Democrats who pledged to do all they could to prevent Judge Kavanaugh from being

confirmed. That helped to dramatize the stage for what promises to be a bitter battle and

almost certainly a losing battle. So is it worth the political bloodshed?

What do you see happening next?

If you're asking me, I think there'll be an argument.

I think it'll be a vigorous argument over the next

couple of months, and then I think Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed as Justice Kavanaugh.

Is the argument going to be worth it?

Yeah, you know, in politics, arguments are always worth it, especially if you can bring out the range of issues that matter.
