Today we're speaking to freelance journalist Sean Beckner-Kal Mitchell.

He's on the ground amidst the new LA riots which sparked off when very serious mass ice raids hit the city.

Many people have been detained, essentially black-bagged off the street in some circumstances,

all under the suspicion that they are in the US illegally.

It's caused absolute mayhem in LA.

Sean himself was even hit in head with a tear gas grenade.

Things are getting very serious out there.

Firstly, it would be best to maybe explain the situation that is going on with ice and the

large-scale raids that they're carrying out. I think there's a lot of people, especially here in Europe,

that are not quite aware of perhaps the severity of it,

what is actually happening.

So maybe if you can just explain that first,

because that's obviously why these riots have really kicked off.
