If you could see your life on God's timeline, where do you think it would be?

So many of us try to live by timelines.

We have a certain goal for ourselves in different areas, and we think, well, by this time in life

or this season in life, I hope to have whatever.

And yet the reality is the only timeline that matters is God's timeline.

There was a moment, a point in time where you were born,

where you entered into this world. And then there's a very brief span that you and I are given

to live on this planet. And then there will be a definite moment when you'll leave this world

and enter the world to come. There'll be a moment when

you leave this life and meet God face to face. I don't know about you. That's a very sobering thing.

And I think most of us would like to think, well, that's a ways in the distance. I've got many years

ahead of me. But it was David who wisely said, there is but a step between me and death. Any moment, any one of us

could enter eternity. And yet, not only is death a possibility, perhaps the greater probability

is that any moment Jesus Christ may come. See, no matter what your age or no matter what your stage in life today,

I want to submit to you you're living right now on the edge of eternity. Any moment Jesus Christ may

come. Any moment you may be face to face with the Son of God. That's a joyful thought, but it's also a very sobering thought.

In the oldest Psalm in the Bible, Moses wrote in Psalm 90, that life is soon cut off and we fly away.
