0:06.7	I am back in Oxford and joined by Wolfgang and Suzanne, directors of Eurointelligence.
0:11.0	Today we are talking about the European Council.
0:14.6	The Lithuanian ambassador to the EU described it as more about long throws than slam dunks.
0:20.2	He said it's the end of the quarter, not the game.
0:22.6	But Boris Johnson, no deal.
0:25.4	Wolfgang, do you think that's actually what happened today?
0:27.7	What's going on with Brexit right now?
0:29.7	No, it's not that it happened today, but what clearly happened is that the UK is throwing
0:36.0	the bowl back to the court of the EU.
0:38.2	The EU said it didn't set a signal for the negotiations.
0:42.3	And the UK said, okay, in this case, there is no point to it.
0:45.2	Now, Johnson didn't actually say that.
0:46.5	He just basically said, we're going to prepare for no deal.
0:49.0	And in the meantime, we keep talking.
0:50.6	But his spokesman this afternoon said that there is no point in the negotiations continuing.
0:56.9	So they hardened the line.
0:58.5	This means that the negotiations may or may not happen next week, but there will be not much to discuss
1:05.2	because both sides will have a political mandate where none of them moves.
1:10.3	The UK will at this point not move on fish.
1:12.7	They made an offer on fish. This was rejected. There has been some progress on the level playing
1:17.8	field. I don't think there has been progress on the essential issues. There are some framework issues
