Big news this week, guys, I think the Guardian had the best headline. It was Enter the Draghi.

What are we to make of Mario Draghi's new job?

Draghi is sort of, as we put it this morning, the kind of, you know, the offer you can't refuse.

It's very difficult for Italian politicians to say no, to their, they found out.

The five-star initial reaction was, oh, we will never have a technocrite again.

That was the first thing that said.

Same with the Lega, the Salvini,

but then they heard back from their folks back in the regions. And they were told, you can't

really say no to Draghi because, you know, he's one of the few people who, you know, have actually

accomplished anything. And it's, you know, we are in such a desperate state. You know, we need to

rise beyond the usual politics. And they have been treading

more carefully for that reason.

I need leadership. I mean, they were searching leadership. Absolutely.

Absolutely. And, you know, saying no to Draghi, just because you position your own party

in a better light or because you're seeking a tactical advantage would be counterproductive.

So you might be just static and, you know, analyze politics, the usual way you analyze it.

And you can conclude that, yes, the Lega might have an interest in an early election.

However, you know, if they sabotaged Draghi in order to get an early election, that would

backfire on them.

So the conclusion they drew, I think rightly rightly and intelligently, that they needed to support him.
