We know that we are in the midst of silly season.

And I am exhausted.

I've been campaigning all across the country.

I've been in Detroit, Philly, Atlanta.

Detroit, Philly, Atlanta.

I've been to Baltimore for Angela also Brooks.

I've been to Charlotte for the vice president as well. Tempe for Ruben Gallego. We've just been making our rounds doing some TV in New York. But I'm back to doing what I love, which is taping

these podcasts. And today we have somebody brilliant that kind of falls in line with our theme of the show,

which is just to have smarter people than you talking to you about things that you think you know about, but none other than Desiree, Jones, Smith.

How are you doing today from Oahu?

I am doing wonderful.

I don't know if I meet the qualification of being smarter than anybody else, but I'm passionate.

I'm excited, so hopefully that makes up for it.

That's what's up. Is Oahu considered the big island? You know, I'm from a country town in South Carolina. I've only been to Sheraton and Waikiki, I think, once.

Yeah. So Oahu is where Honolulu and Waikiki is. It's the largest, the most populated island, but it is not the

largest geographically. That would be the Big Island or Hawaii Island. My husband's stationed here,

and so we have the amazing privilege to share some space with some wonderful locals for a short

period of time, and it has just really been a blessing for my family to experience this.

That's amazing. We start each one of our shows the same way by having our guest walk us through the

arc of their careers. And you've had a very career in nonprofit leadership and academia.
