Summary

It's a mini version of Ohio State football rants on this Tuesday episode of Buckeye Talk as Doug Lesmerises runs through some thoughts from Ohio State text subscribers. First (0:30), Doug shares his own view on the Big Ten television plan for football games, now that some networks and game times have been announced for 2023. Then (15:24), it's more on the transfer of Ohio State receiver Kaleb Brown to Iowa and how OSU fans should view the Hawkeyes this season. A discussion about redshirting (25:15) and how it should be viewed then follows. Next (30:05) is more reflections and feedback on the Ohio State offensive line based on the podcast episode from a couple weeks ago. Finally (41:02) there's a brief follow on college sports betting as texters share their thoughts. Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk from cleveland.com. Learn more about your ad choices. Hey, hey, where you've been, but got talk is about to begin, hey, hey, hey, come on in.

0:26.5

Welcome back to Tuesday book. I talk to clueless.com Doug Lamaries. We're going to brush on a few topics today.

0:31.5

We're going to talk about why Ohio State fans might be rooting for Iowa. Talk a little bit

0:36.5

doubling back on some of your thoughts on college football betting and sort of wrap up a couple

0:41.5

different things that have been out there. A little offensive line talk, kind of a

0:46.5

a rewrap on some recent topic. So it'll be just me, but we have like three or

0:52.5

four monster pods planned for the next couple. So little lighter here. We're talkables coming

0:59.5

and a big picture of Ohio State discussion coming Wednesday pod will be I think an

1:06.5

interesting big picture look about risks and recruiting. But for now, we'll start with TV

1:11.5

stuff because this does affect you guys and news was coming out this week. That well,

1:16.5

the games are getting announced. They just like everything that NFL does it better

1:21.5

than anybody. Turning something that used to be a press release or an email into an

1:26.5

event and like the Ohio State, the NFL schedule release is an event now. And the NFL,

1:33.5

you know the teams that you're going to play and you're just finding out what week

1:37.5

you're playing them. And are you playing at one o'clock or four o'clock on a Sunday night

1:41.5

or a Thursday night, whatever. So college football is not all the way there yet.

1:45.5

I would not be surprised if they get there. I would not at all be surprised if they get

1:49.5

there. But the issue is there's a lot more networks involved with college football

1:55.5

and college football is regional to have everybody together like the big 10 to have a big

1:59.5

10 schedule release extravaganza. I could see I'm getting to the big 10 also reserves

2:04.5

a lot of games for later. And they move things around later in the year based on

2:10.5

who's good, which games matter the most. But that is going to get more complicated
